Face it, we’ve all had our share – or more – of trying to live on our own terms, and many of us have come to the correct conclusion that there’s no way we can be successful at it without putting our complete and unquestioning trust in God. He’s the One who gave us life in the first place; He should be the One on whom we rely for all that happens in that life!

John’s had his episodes of this sort. He’s been in pain, been in trouble, been in despair. But now he’ll tell you much more than that because of the redeeming and restoring work which Jesus Christ has accomplished in his life. Now he’s joyful, peace-filled, and hopeful – he’s been set free by the power and work of the Lord.

I’ve been set free from the prison
By the One who makes the blind to see,
by the Lord who gave His life for me,
Bringing life and hope to all men,
From the life of sin which I once led,
by the Lord of Lords who rose up from the dead.

He is the God who gives me peace,
He is the loving Lord,
He gave Himself for my release,
He bore the cross so I could be restored!
\

Now I have life and glorious joy,
trusting in God above,
Heaven and earth cannot destroy
all that the Lord has given through His love!

Come and meet the Lord with me,
Learn about His grace,
Then with eyes of faith you’ll see
Why I give Him my undying praise!
