We are called to sing for God’s glory (what better task for a choir is there?), and so we ought to be honoring Him with our lives, and expressing those lives in what we say and do. Our praise should ascend to heaven, and should do so with a force great enough to cause the angels to pause to see what the Lord is inspiring us to do.

The clue in this song is a bit obscure; it’s found in the chorus words “angels aware.” Solving this song required having a bit of Valley Church history in hand; the New Creature Choir once sang a musical “Angels Aware,” and Scott performed the lead vocal part.

Oh, glorify the King of heaven,
Sing a song of holy praise to Him,
Make the angels aware of our rejoicing,
Sing a song of holy praise to Him!

Cause the nations to respond with gladness,
To turn to God who sacrificed,
That they might know His desire to buy them
Through the great Redeemer, Jesus Christ!

Bring the people to the throne of Jesus,
Lead them in to worship at His throne,
When they join us in His presence,
They will honor Him, and Him alone!

Glory to the King of Kings!
Glory to the Lamb!
Glory to the Lord of Lords!
Praise the great I Am!
Glory to the Crucified!
Glory to our God!
Glory to the risen Savior,
Give Him laud!
