Claire joined us for the latter half of her senior year in high school, and made quite an impact on us because of the glorious spark of the new life she had in our Lord. You probably have figured out the clue on your own already; “Claire” means “clear” – and there also is a clue in the music because there’s a flute part which goes with the score (Claire’s a flautist).

Thanks for such a joyous testimony, Claire! I’ll be missing you while you’re away at school, and will be hoping that you can drop in on rehearsal soon!

There were storms, there were clouds,
there was darkness on the way that I walked in fear,
There was hate, there were doubts,
there was blindness and a crushing load of care,
But then the Lord through His perfect grace
dispelled the shades of night,
And gave me eyes to see His face
that I might know His glorious light.

Things are clear now, I worship the God who has made me His own,
Life makes sense now to me as I praise Him before His throne,
He has changed me, drawn me above,
And the life that I live is the proof of His undying love.

There was pain and despair,
there was nothing in the way that I lived on my own,
There was grief filled with care,
there was wanting, and I found my self alone.
But them the Lord came to me in love
to bear my sins away,
And with new eyes I look above
to visions of a great new day.
