Living Water has been blessed with a considerable number of instrumentalists over the years. Julie plays French horn quite well, and this is remembered here in the key signatures of F minor and F major (the instrument is also known as an “F horn” since it plays in concert F). A second clue is found in the horn lines in the introduction.

The main challenge in this song is to sing “serve the eternal King, Alpha, Omega, the Mighty God and Wonderful Counselor always with all your heart” clearly and precisely; given this achievement, this line provides a clear perspective on just who it is we worship and serve. Also, harmonically, the chorus offers some wonderful cluster chords which turn out to be fairly easy to sing.

There’s a kingdom in glory where the Son of God reigns,
Where the Lion of Judah roars and tosses His mane,
There the Root of Jesse is the Source of all grace,
And the once-emptied Provider owns His people’s praise!

Oh, praise and worship Him who wields all power in majesty!
Oh, praise and worship Him who owns the heavens, sky, earth, and sea!
For He is great, and greatly to be praised,
His glory shines beyond the farthest star!
Oh, praise and worship Him who holds eternity in His hand,
Oh, praise and worship Him who lives forever and evermore and
Serve the eternal King, Alpha, Omega, the Mighty God and Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace always with all your heart!

There’s a kingdom in my heart where the Lord Jesus lives,
Where the coming Messiah hope eternal gives,
There the Master of Glory abides forevermore,
And the Almighty Creator makes my song to soar!
