Looking at the surprisingly easy music. I have one ringer that hasn’t played in a while and one moving from bass clef to treble clef. I have 4 ringers total. Can you tell me level of this sheet music?

Although the AGEHR Level System was intended to categorize music written for handbell choirs of ten or a dozen ringers, it does serve as a realistic way to estimate the challenge level of other handbell scores as long as they’re approached with approximately the same kinds of assignments. Given that our “Surprisingly Easy”™ eight-bell scores divide the beat into no more than two pieces (e.g. eighth notes in 4/4), they’d by comparable to Level 2 music. Such scores would be more difficult if played at faster tempi, of course!
We do have a number of free arrangements that you can try out. Dona Nobis Pacem is on the easy side of “Surprisingly Easy”™, and The Ants Go Marching is somewhat closer to the midrange of our “standard” arrangements. You’re welcome to download them to see how your ringers do!
As for your ringer who’s moving from bass to treble, playing in an eight-bell quartet should be a relatively easy change!
