Men's vocal ensembles frequently have the voice distribution "TTBB" - two tenor parts and two bass parts. A group of four such singers often describes themselves as a "barbershop quartet" (with the more detailed voice description "tenor, lead, baritone, bass"). Such quartets often have better than average singes, because the tenor and bass parts frequently sing outside the main range of "normal" men's voices.
