All about Choraegus:
I started Choraegus ShareMusic in 1995 as a way to share my music with the public. My initial impression was that I was arriving a bit late in the game. What I didn’t know, being a newbie, was that 1995 actually was still in the beginning stages of the Internet. There were only about 25,000 Web sites back then, as compared to 2006 when the 100-million-site milestone was shattered.
The first uploads and how they grew:
Anyway, I started uploading the music I’d been writing for Living Water, the choir I was leading at Valley Church (Cupertino, CA), and swiftly progressed into other areas as well, including music for other types of vocal ensembles, handbells, and instrumental ensembles. As my involvement in the music world has grown, so have my interests and their applications.
Handbells become part of the picture:
Handbells became part of my life in 1987, and a bit after that I started writing for that instrument as well. I’ve had the privilege of having compositions accepted by a number of publishers, and that’s exciting news. But… since I have my own music company, adding music to the Choraegus catalog makes it available to the public more quickly, so more and more handbell pieces have appeared here in the years since. It also ensures that no works go out of print, or even run out of stock!
How we add music to Choraegus:
Our self-determined rule is that we won’t post something until have a satisfactory video for each piece. Doing so proves that each score is playable, and gives you an idea of how it looks and sounds. That’s not a big problem for our eight-bell music, because we can just play the score as we’re presenting it in a concert program.
Recording for more than eight bells:
It’s a bit more involved if we’re recording anything between twelve bells and five octaves, because we can’t hold all those bells at the same time. However, we’ve also worked out how to works for six, twelve, and sixteen bells as well as scores for full-sized handbell choirs. Because of this, we’ve also learned to make videos for all of these types of works. It’s been lots of fun to create demos that you can watch and hear!
Your thoughts and suggestions are welcome:
If you want to share a thought with us, or if you want to suggest or commission a piece of music, drop us a line via our \contact page. We can rtalk about what you’d like to do.
Thanks for visitng!
Read on, explore this site, and enjoy what’s here. I’m hoping that we’ll have the privilege of sharing music – and if time, energy, and opportunity permit, also making some together too!

Larry. I paid for the 3 pieces and received the email but did not understand that the links got me my music. I’ve tried using the links but they said they expired. Can you resend the links to me? Carol

Hi Bonnie!
It’s great to hear from you! I’m going to have to try to retrieve the track from another source – my hard drive died a year ago and I’m afraid I lost all of those files. 🙁
Right now I’m just dealing in PDF music scores – the $25 provides the PDF and the license to make the copies you need. If you need another copy, though, I’d be happy to send you one gratis!
Larry :)…
