LWCP – Gathering Momentum

The second volume of the Living Water Composition Project expressed a greater level of compositional maturity (at least in my own thinking). The previous year’s experience in writing music had been a good education, and so I had new tools and a better perception of what could (and could not!) be done in choral music.

Nevertheless, there were more than a few songs in the second (and largest to date) volume of the LWCP which were of fairly severe difficulty for a number of reasons: vocal range, dictional speed, and general technical demands. This, however, is very much in line with my personal philosophy of ministry, which accepts and even demands challenge as a very necessary part of growth in serving the Lord.

The second volume of the LWCP was the completion of a key step in the perpetuation of what hopefully is to be a long-standing aspect of Living Water’s ministry: Songs for most, it not all of the juniors and seniors had been completed, thus relaxing the pressure to produce a bit.
