Music - In The Garden
"In The Garden", I've heard, is the all-time favorite hymn named when people are surveyed. It speaks of the precious togetherness which the Lord Jesus wants to have with us, and how He (indeed!) is a Friend who's closer than a brother.
Many thanks to David Freeman for inquiring as to where he might find a TTBB arrangement of this hymn - here it is!
I come to the garden alone
while the dew is still on the roses,
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
the Son of God discloses.Chorus: And He walks with me and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known. He speaks, and the sound of His voice
is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
within my heart is ringing.Chorus
(Original third verse)
(Alternate third verse) I'd stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go through the voice of woe,
His voice is to me calling.
I'd rest in the garden with Him
and enjoy the light of His gloryBut my Savior leads me to do His deeds
and tell His wondrous story.Chorus
