Spring Ring 2009 - CliniciansLinda Krantz is more than just local talent. As a wonderfully talented and expressive solo ringer, she has encouraged, entertained, and even entranced many audiences. She also rings in a choir and sextet at her church, and in a quartet at the Master's College.Kevin McChesney
Kevin McChesney is the director of the Pikes Peak Ringers, the editor for several handbell publishing organizations, one the most prolific composers in the handbell world, and an all-around great guy. While he won't be able to attend the Spring Ring in person, you can look forward to receiving the benefit of his incredible experience via one of his DVD workshops (and then you'll be tempted to go to Colorado to hang out with him)!
D.L. Shearer first picked up a handbell from David Davidson in 1976 while attending graduate school in Cincinnati, OH. Upon returning to CA as music director of the Fallbrook UMC he introduced and purchased handbells for the congregation which he served for fourteen years. With Ginny Fleming as a mentor D.L. also served as representative to the Area XII board as well as secretary of Area XII. Currently he is in his ninth year Director of Music Ministries at First United Methodist Church of Escondido, CA. The church prides itself on hosting handbell events and workshops for the district.
Larry Sue is a member the Son Ringers at First Presbyterian Church of Mountain View and directs the Bells Angels at St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Saratoga. He is the conceptual founder and Artistic Figurehead of Low Ding Zone, the World's First Bass-Only Handbell Ensemble. He has taught bell and chime workshops on practically every subject, and specializes in bass bells, manifesting this as the author of the Bass Ringer's Notebook. He also is a published handbell composer, and has recently been writing commissioned works (and, of course, various other works, including the occasional bass bell solo).
