INTENSE RINGING with Doug Benton
Friday, April 18, 2006 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 19, 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
Valley Church, 10885 No. Stelling Rd, Cupertino, CA 95014
Dear “Need to be Challenged” Ringer:
One of the best events that the national AGEHR sponsors is Distinctly Bronze. Unfortunately, for those ringers who enjoy a challenge under skilled directors, it is usually held on the east coast, far, far away and expensive and time consuming to attend.
Next April we are going to hold a “mini” DB and the cost is only $25. Four hours of intense ringing under the direction of Doug Benton, something that handbell addicted ringers will adore. There will be no music to prepare in advance. One piece of music, included in registration, and another which you may either purchase or bring, will be rehearsed. These are L4 and L5 pieces. Assignments will be made at the first session, although you may choose the area of bells you prefer.
Doug has selected his arrangement of: Blue Rondo a la Turk (Beckenhorst Press HB77) and Michael Helman’s Nocturne No. 2 in C Minor (AGEHR 36018) for the Intense Ring program.
Expect to work hard, fast and intensely! One piece will be either memorized or nearly memorized by the time you complete the rehearsals and perform it at the Spring Ring concert on Saturday evening. The second piece may, at Doug's discretion, also be performed at the final concert.
The fun part of such an event is the opportunity to ring and socialize with other bell fanatics! If you need to spend the night in the area, some of the local may even have an extra bed available. Of course, there are lots of motels available, as well as fine eating establishments.
There are no classes. Just ringing! Fill out the form (to be added later...), wait for confirmation, and enjoy.
Best wishes,
Dave Ruder
