Sunday morning: Pack 130 pounds of bells in the back seat, check out of the motel, get breakfast at Shari's (it's great that they're open 24/7), and hit the road. The goal was to make it to choir practice at Red Bluff First United Methodist Church, where my long-time friend Kare is the music director.

By the way, RBFUMC has a stuffed animal at the center aisle end of each pew because sometime back, one of the (former) pastor's daughters said that "everyone should be able to come to church to get a hug."

God was blessing us, too: I had the privilege of bolstering a somewhat depleted bass section that morning... but even more important, I got to see some very special friends again (Amanda, if you read this, sorry I missed you!).
