Area XII 2004, Ontario, CA - The Drive Home

Driving home was a little more exciting than driving to Ontario, mostly because 1) I had to get home in time to make the morning flight to Honolulu on Monday, and 2) because I missed the Hwy. 138 turnoff. Fortunately, I got off long before passing through Las Vegas, and so ended up taking the rural route through Phelan to get back to Joshua tree land, actually made it to Interstate 5 just after sunset (whew!), and got home at only half past midnight.

Here's Highway 14 out of Ontario. Note the "character" that the air between me and the hills has... also, the blob at the top of the picture, I think, is an ill-destined insect that met me on the way down...

I like sunset pictures... no, I don't know if the splotchy thing in the left-hand one is a UFO.
