This little noodle house got a wonderful writeuin the San Jose Mercury News, and lived up to it quite capably. Be sure to go there, but also be ready to wait in line for a few minutes because it's a popular place. |

Cafe style... atmosphere isn't exactly romantic, but the food's wonderful. Be sure to read about the owner's medals on the back wall! |
| Hot Bite Kabob 487 Saratoga Ave. San Jose, CA 95129 408-615-15562 |
Persian Fast Food | We dropped in here on their very first day of business, and were very impressed by their food. Lunch was koobideh wrapped in lavash bread with tomatoes, cilantro, onions, and other trimmings - delicious! - and their barley-chicken soup had a nice tang to it. They have vegetarian food too, and all at economical prices. |

Wonderful! Friends recommend this restaurant based on their experiences over the past ten or eleven years. We took a group of more than twenty here, and the food was fantastic! |

| Korean Palace 2297 Stevens Creek Blvd. San Jose, CA 95128 408-947-8600 david@koreanpalace.com |
Korean | Very, very good Korean food and very good service - prices are a little on the higher side, but it's worth it. This is the kind of place you'll want to visit anytime (especially after an exhausting day shopping at the nearby Valley Fair Mall). |
| Maggiano's Little Italy 3055 Olin Ave., Suite 1000 San Jose, CA 408-423-8973 |
Italian | A definitely classly-looking place inside the Santana Row shopping center. Everything they make is done nicely, and the staff takes good care of you. |

Very nice Moroccan food. A certain three-year-old also had fun sharing the dance floor with the belly dancer... and he got a hug for it! |

Vietnamese and American-style BBQ | You like pho? ribs? Now you can have both at the same time! |
| Pho Bac Sol 1090-1092 North First Street San Jose, CA 95112 |
Chinese-Vietnamese | Seriously wonderful down-home cooking. We had a great pho lunch here.
The Chez Croissant Bakery shares the space with the restaurant, so have lunch and then get dessert! |
| Queen of Sheba 1860 The Alameda San Jose, CA 95126 408-294-4313 Fax: 408-294-4934 |
Ethiopian | We love Ethiopian food, and noticed the nice review of Queen of Sheba in the Mercury News. So we went there for lunch, and found that they make their food to perfection - the injera (Ethiopian flat bread, which you use to pick up morsels of everything else) was absolurely perfect, and the entrees were wonderful too! |

This small restaurant prepares wonderful (northern, I think) Vietnamese food with tremendous friendliness and constant smiles. Take a friend and have a great time! |

Japanese | Here's a place where you can get some good sushi and katsu. And if you get it to go, you're welcome to take it to the movies next door! |
