New Wave Mexican

We were wandering around downtown Carmel and decided to go here for dinner. The first indicator that this was something special was our waiter's sense of humor. .. and the food was equally wonderful. The Mexican cuisine was there, except with some imaginative - and healthy - wrinkles (e.g. no deep frying, lard-free food. And if you eat on the patio tables, your dog is also welcome to stay with you!

California

Really wonderful people, really wonderful service, really wonderful food! They even do a good job of tempting you with a wonderful-looking dessert menu (alas, lunch left us unable to partake, so we'll have to do that next time...).

Breakfast (every day, cash only)

Carmel's a pretty laid-back town, so at 7:00 a.m. Katy's is about the only place open. It's traditional American breakfast fare (pancakes, eggs, corned beef hash, etc.) - it reminded me of how Dad would cook breakfast for us on weekends... yum.
