Janet was our accompanist for the 1988-1989 season. She (and we with her!) went through some special trials over that time, and to some extent they're recalled by this song.
It's really important for a pianist to have the use of both hands, but after a few months of playing for us, Janet started to have problems with one of her arms. So she continued playing one-handed. But then the other arm started to act up, and so she moved to the soprano section (this, by the way, was one of the reasons we shifted not-so-gradually to recorded accompaniments). What dedication, though!
Things have improved since then, and now Janet's back to playing the piano... when she has time to play in between being a student missionary, a seminary student, and contributor to a number of ministries in which she labors with the same dedication that she showed all those years ago. I am very privileged to call her my friend and sister!
