Dedicated to Leah Lutz
Released: 4/25/1991
I'm always on the lookout for weird new clues, and this song was a
chance to take advantage of my Scouting experience. I'd had to learn
Morse Code as part of attaining First Class rank, and so started
exploring what would happen with members' names when translated into
that mode of communication. Curiously enough, it turned out that
L-E-A-H was the only name out of all the members (who didn't already
have songs of their own) which worked at all. It turned out to be a
nice little calypso rhythm!
When this song was released, I made the mistake of telling Living Water that Charlotte and Aaron had the best chance of solving it. The background was that Charlotte is a certified ham radio operator and Aaron had also been in Scouts. Alas, Charlotte hadn't had to use Morse Code for quite awhile, and Aaron never had to learn it. So the other members were right in an unexpected way when they said, "But Charlotte and Aaron have nothing in common..."
I look upon the stars at night,
They shimmer in the sky,
The planets dance among their light
And praise the Lord most high.Chorus: For He is God Almighty who owns the heavens
His are the planets, the stars, and sun,
He alone deserves our worship,
So praise Him, everyone! The sun arises, bringing light,
It warms the cheers the land.
So every nation can see God's might
And the goodness of His hand.Chorus I see the oceans full of waves
That crash upon the short,
And echo in the great sea caves
To praise God evermore.
Chorus So why don't people give Him praise
When He owns everything?
Oh, honor Him in all your ways
Because He's Lord and King.
