The Living Water Composition Project came into being as an effort to provide some new music for Seasons of Heart, the erstwhile Valley Church senior high ensemble. However, Seasons of Heart disbanded before their set of twelve songs was completed. Since all SoH members were required to be members of Living Water as part of their commitment to the ensemble, it was easy to make their songs the first volume of the LWCP.

The concept of dedicating each song to a Seasons of Heart members was transplanted to the new Living Water Composition Project, and has been continued to the present. The method of doing so also has been preserved. At least one clue is present in each songs as a pointer to the designated singer; some clues are musical, others are textual, and a few are historic. Some songs have more than one clue.

"The Big Picture" was written for Brad on the basis of his leading Seasons of Heart, hence the title, and because of his inimitable as a bass guitarist, which said ability is commemorated in the opening and closing bass lines.

When you've got troubles in your life, my friend,
recall what Jesus said,
And put your trust upon His promises
to see the great things ahead.
You've got to cast aside the trapping of the present
and eternity anticipate,
Looking always to the Lord Jesus,
the Author and the Finisher of our faith.
Chorus: You've got to know that God is big though you're small,
You've got to stand for Him, so stand up tall,
You've got to keep your ears alert for His call,
'Cause the Lord is the Lord of all,
You've got to keep the big picture in view,
You've got to trust Him that His promise is true,
You've got to live for Him in all that you do,
'Cause the Lord has a place in His big picture for you.
When you've got worries in your life, my friend,
give your hand to God,
Commit your way to Him in faithfulness,
and walk the path Jesus trod.
You've got to put on all the armor of the Lord
and His orders always fully obey,
Looking always to the Lord Jesus,
the Author and the Finisher of our faith.
