The Living Water Composition Project came into being through a desire to provide Living Water with good music with a clear, solid message in a variety of styles. Each of the songs is dedicated to one of the members, and this is indicated by clues in the musical scores thereof. This in itself has led to the "LWCP Puzzle," where I challenge the members of Living Water to find and interpret the clues as the songs are released. The rules are:
The first release of each song appears without the dedication line which normally appears on the first page.
I tell Living Water whether the clue is (clues are) in the words, the music, or both.
Living Water (and, for that matter, anyone else interested) is allowed to try to find and decipher the clue. When someone thinks they have an answer, they can propose their solution, provided they offer evidentiary support, and if they're right, the solution is released.
The solution also is released when the dedicatee of an unsolved song leaves us.
By the way, I try, consciously and perhaps with some playfulness aforethought, to leave four or five members without songs at the end of each season just to make guessing harder to do...
