Old friends can always connect. It turned out that Steve Wong, the English pastor at San Jose Chinese Alliance Church, and I have been friends since we were teenagers (as a matter of fact, he was my first choir director...) back in Oakland. And so we got in touch and set up a date. Curiously enough, it turned out that Audrey Lee, who coordinated the evening, was also a long-time acquaintance from Burlingame. It's really fascinating to see how the Lord works in lives and brings people back together after a long wait, and that He makes it very special.
