Living
Water Scrapbook - Piedmont Gardens, CaliforniaOur relationship with Piedmont Gardens, an East Bay retirement community, actually started with the church I attended before going to Valley Church; our choir visited at Christmas a couple of times. Once Living Water's concert ministry started, PG was a very, very natural place to call. Scott Sebastian, and later Ray Figueroa, were both wonderful in working with us to set up a series of dates.
Piedmont Gardens is a wonderful place to sing because of the location. Special programs can be held in a number of places in this large facility; our usual place has been the "Sky Room" on the eleventh floor of one of the main wings (it also adjoins a large roof patio which is a fabulous place to each lunch picked up at one of the many restaurants in the neighborhood).
One of my favorite memories was our April 1995 concert. It was the first time we'd performed "Come Sing A Song Of Praise, and so per the rules of the LWCP puzzle I had to reveal the solution. And so, when I told everyone how to see Jesse's name spelled out in the noteheads of the introduction, it was a rather magical experience...
And so we've been there more than a few times, and God continues to bless us as we minister there! It's been a privilege to meet the people, and to hear a bit of their life stories. After our fifth visit, a lady named Ruth testified of how the Lord had led her through many, many times - once even by audible direction (to her only, not to the people around her - and if you don't believe that this can happen, your God isn't big enough: if He wants to He can adjust the acoustics of the environment any way He pleases... remember, something like this happened to the Apostle Paul in Acts 9!).
Saturday, August 28, 2004: And now we've started a new tradition: After we sing at Piedmont Gardens, we're going to Fenton's up the street for ice cream!

Living Water has performed at Piedmont Gardens over the past few years. Their performances have alway been well received and enjoyed by our residents. Many of our residents don't get outside these walls to hear concerts and your chorus provides the means for these residents to enjoy concerts again.
Thank you so much for the gifts of giving, sharing and fellowship.
Mary
