The Nemec family (Frank and Laurie, Phil, and Cayley) has been faithful and wonderful contributors to our ministry for years and years - appreciate them very, very much. Frank was responsible for establishing the Living Water tradition of the "singing bus driver" (he would drive us to concerts and would also jump into the bass section for the program; Laurie did this too now and then). The ministry thrives with people with such hearts!

Anyway, one year I decided to have a mini-retreat for Living Water over a weekend, and so the Nemecs volunteered their spread up - way up - in the Saratoga hills as the place to stay. Although there were only about eight or ten of us, we had a great time of singin' and hangin' out together; our "GTKSB" (Get To Know Someone Better) sessions were tremendous times of fellowship.

We sang our program with the so-called "portable" sound system from Valley Church - you know, two Peavey SP-2 speakers and a 24-channel mixer plus ancillary equipment (Gary needed every cubic centimeter of his truck to haul it, and really had to be careful with the brakes on the way back down the hill). The Lord even provided for us to have a little agreement with the neighbors that they'd turn the stereo at their party off while we sang (and, from the "balcony" of another hill, they listened) - the Lord has really fascinating ways of setting up ministry opportunities...
