Living
Water
We're a music ministry of the First Presbyterian Church of Mountain View, California. Our mission is to be used by the Lord to draw others to worship and love Him. In recursive terms, our purpose is to "glorify God and cause others to do the same."
We do this by singing at our home church, where we present the message of Jesus Christ in our services on a monthly basis.
We do this by sharing our faith through concerts at retirement communities and care facilities, and by taking time to talk with the residents/patients.
We do this by encouraging other churches when we sing for them.
Most of our repertoire is from the Living Water Composition Project, an ongoing set of songs written specially for our members. These songs cross a wide range of musical styles from classical to traditional to contemporary, and vocal configurations from unison to eight parts. It's all available online from Choraegus ShareMusic - take a look!
We practice in the First Pres Music Room on Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:15. We're usually preparing for the next few home services in which we're going to sing, and also working up songs for our next concert.
We're best described as an "all-ages ministry". Adults, teens, and children (from around eleven years old) are welcome - it's an opportunity for families to share a ministry, and to learn the blessing and art of singing for God's glory. More information: Email me!
